Sussex Barn Wedding Fayre

Last weekend, I exhibited at The Sussex Barn at Hellingly and what a beautiful place that is.  Set right in the heart of the countryside, the venue is actually a very old barn, complete with all the original internal timber beams and the outlook overlooking beautiful green fields, made all the more spectacular by the fantastic weather we had!  It was so hot even the Chauffer was taking full advantage of the heat as he basked in the sun, whereas he normally has the short end of the straw, having to be outside in the cold with his Roller!

The Sussex Barn is beautifully laid out, with a Courtyard leading to the Barn and the Courtyard is edged with the old Stables which have been renovated to a very high standard, which now accommodates the "loos" and what lovely "loos" they are, top notch!  The other side of the Courtyard, is an open fronted lower roofed Barn that is home to the drinks bar, so I would presume you would have the choice of milling around inside or out for your wedding function, depending on the weather.

The entrance to the Courtyard and Barn are dressed with Milk Churns, topped with pretty flower displays and this is just one of the many country style finishing touches they seem to do very well.  Well worth a visit if you are still thinking of where to have your wedding "doo".

We as exhibitors were well looked after, supplying us with teas/coffee's etc and with a constant supply of tasty morsels of food to sample.

I was kept busy thru much of the day with a steady amount of prospective Brides and met some lovely ladies out there and heard a lot of your ideas, colour schemes and plans and it appears that June seems to be the popular month, (so far) for getting married next year!  Would love to think that I would be given the chance to meet up with most of you that passed by my way last week to design and create your Wedding Jewellery!

While Exhibiting at the Sussex Barn I had the good fortune to meet with a lovely girl called Grace, who was exhibiting opposite me.  She is a Make Up Artist, specialising in Bridal Make-up.  She had set out a really good Exhibition Table, which I always think is difficult to achieve for make-up, with all of her products and equipment on show.

The Red Lipstick!
I looked thru her photo's and she had some really lovely ones there showing off her work.  There was one I particularly liked was of a Bride on the back of a Scooter and it was her beautiful red lipstick that caught my eye that Grace seemed to have got just right, perfect against the Bride's tones!  I've put some pictures here from her website, there is a link from my web page to hers or you can click here.  Well worth a look.

Debra's Wedding

Have just taken receipt of a few photo's from Debra's Wedding, from the end of May.  Debra was married at Crockstead Farm Hotel, just outside Uckfield, which has a beautiful back drop of old barns and horses stables, which have been brought up to modern day spec!!

Debra's dress was of a classic design, classic lines and no embellishments on the dress.  She instead chose to use her jewellery to highlight her dress and bring it all together, which was lovely for me, as it gave me a blank canvas to work from!!

Debra decided on a comb, which featured a spray of Parchment Tea Roses, Fresh Water Potato Pearls and Swarovski AB Crystals, which gave way to a spray, forming to the side of her hair.  Her necklace was made up of the same pearls and crystal, but I made them into clusters, with a large centre pearl for each cluster.  These were then linked with a slightly large potato pearl and more crystals, but tiny ones!  This was finished off with a silver S link connector.  There was also a bracelet to match, but cannot be seen in the picture!

Paula was her bridesmaid and sister and they chose a beautiful shade of coral for me to work with.  So I used again potato pearls, but a very pale coral and deep coral crystals and tiny silver dot seed beads.  These were all then sewn together, to produce a daisy like effect necklace, finished with a magnetic clasp and again we made a bracelet to match, with little coral and pearl bicone drop earrings.

As you can see by the pictures, how lovely it all worked out!

Jessica's Wedding

I've had some fun getting some very last minute pieces together for Jessica's Wedding this Saturday.  I met with her just two weeks ago with a very frantic mum in law to be....... asking if i would make a jewelled butterfly to go on her wedding dress, where a rather tired looking rose once went!!!  After a few tweaks here and there, it looked pretty good.  On my trip down to Claire De Lune's bridal shop to put the butterfly onto the dress, it took on a completely new look and it came alive!!!

We then worked on Jess's Tiara and she decided to go with a Tiara made with just Swarovski AB Crystal, which gives the best shine and sparkle in the business!  And it certainly did sparkle that day Jess was married on.  I had the priviledge of living very close to where Jess would be getting married and went to take a peep of her arriving to Church.  As I watched from a distance, the bling and glare that bounced off that Tiara was a sight to be seen!!!

Jess chose a hand sewn necklace made with off white round pearls and bicone AB crystals and at each point of the necklace, I tipped with a tiny silver lined seed bead.   Again Earrings to match, which took the shape of a crystal bicone, suspended from a 4mm crystal, which again with just a faint movement of her head the crystal caught the light and lit up like a lighthouse!!!!

It all worked so well together, she had certainly chosen well with her choice of designs and materials, which even went down as far as topping her cake off with two hearts, one large and one small, made of crystals, with a small butterfly suspended from inside each heart.  It all looked spectacular!

The pictures i have used are from my camera and I am waiting for Jess to return from her honeymoon, so that hopefully I can add some professional ones to the website and to this blog, so that we may see the detail on the dress and a closer look at the jewellery!
